Parents often reach out when their child feels overwhelmed, frustrated, or stuck academically. Many students are bright and capable but struggle with executive functioning, ADHD, time management, online learning platforms, and the hidden expectations that come with school. They work hard but do not see better grades.
Students feel discouraged, and parents often feel unsure how to help.
This is the gap I have dedicated my career to closing.
I support students in grades seven through post-secondary who need help building learning strategies, study skills, organization, and confidence. My work focuses on teaching students how to learn in today’s fast paced, digital learning environment so they can meet expectations with greater clarity and independence.
The Hidden Curriculum and Why Students Need Executive Functioning Support
Every school has a hidden curriculum. These are the skills students are expected to know without being explicitly taught. How to organize schoolwork. How to manage time. How to study effectively. How to break down assignments. How to navigate online learning platforms. How to advocate for support.
Students with ADHD, learning disabilities, anxiety, or executive functioning challenges often struggle the most with these unspoken expectations. Parents want to help, but without clear guidance, the support can quickly turn into stress or conflict at home
.
When students are taught how to learn, they become more confident and independent. That confidence often leads to stronger engagement and better grades across their courses.
Teaching Learning Strategies and Study Skills for Today’s Digital World
School today looks very different than it did even twenty years ago. Students are expected to manage cloud storage, digital submissions, online portals, email communication, notifications, and constantly shifting deadlines. Many students have never been taught the digital literacy skills needed to keep up.
My work focuses on teaching the skills that make learning manageable. This includes time management, organization, reading strategies, note taking, studying, planning, and the intentional use of assistive technology to reduce cognitive load. I help students understand what their work requires and build routines that support steady progress and improved academic performance.
ADHD Help That Supports Students, Parents, Schools, and Clinics
Student success does not happen in isolation. Parents need clarity and reassurance. Schools need training and practical tools. Clinics need support helping students apply assessment results in real academic settings.
I work directly with students, while also supporting the systems around them. I partner with parents who want guidance without nightly homework battles. I collaborate with schools that need support with inclusive practices, assistive technology, or executive function programming. I work with psychologists and clinics to provide post assessment academic support that helps students use their learning profile in meaningful ways.
When the system around a student becomes stronger, everyone benefits.
Why This Mission Matters: How Strong Executive Functioning and Learning Strategies Build Confidence
I have spent more than thirty years working with learners across educational settings. I have taught in schools, supported accessibility services, designed curriculum, trained educators, and helped thousands of students understand how to learn more effectively.
I know what works because I have seen it work. When students learn how to learn, they develop confidence, independence, and long-term success. They approach school differently. They study with intention. They manage their time with greater clarity. They feel proud of their progress.
Every student deserves that chance.
Academic Support for High School and College Students Who Need Clarity
Parents come to me because they want their child to earn better grades and feel confident again. They want support that understands ADHD, executive functioning challenges, and learning disabilities. They want clear guidance instead of constant stress around schoolwork.
If your child needs support with planning, organization, studying, or navigating digital learning expectations, I will teach them the skills that make school manageable. Students can learn differently. With the right tools and support, students can thrive.
